Appproximately 15,400 troops, British and Australian, were moved into Selarang Barrack Square, Changi, as a reprisal for refusing to sign a Non escape or Parole Declaration. This movement was known as the Barrack Square Incident. Identified, from left to right, are Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Hedley Francis Summons, Officer Commanding (OC) Changi Hospital talking to Lt Col F G Galleghan during the moving-in stage. On the right are Lt Col R Bridgland AIF Changi; Lt Col J Glyn-White ADMS AIF POWs.
