Description

Dugumur Bay, New Guinea. 1944-06-14. Suphdev Singh, Royal Indian Army Service Corps (1), seated in a Piper Cub aircraft of the United States Army Air Corps which is to fly him out of Senai 2 to Madang for medical treatment. Suphdev Singh was one of the 57 members of the 1/14th Punjab Regiment who were captured by the Japanese at the fall of Singapore and who were used as labourers by the Japanese forces in New Guinea.
