Middle East. September 1942. An officer of the Australian Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) is jokingly decorated with a model German Iron Cross for services rendered to Australian troops. The YMCA was a welfare organisation, who with the Red Cross and Salvation Army brought comforts to troops, even in the vicinity of battle areas.
