Description

Darwin. November 1942. The Australian Minister for Air, the Honourable A. S. Drakeford, on a visit to the forward defence areas is instructed on the intricacies of a Curtiss P40 Kittyhawk fighter aircraft by Squadron Leader Keith (Bluey) Truscott, Commanding Officer of No. 76 Squadron RAAF. Truscott who saw service against the Germans with the RAAF in England and the Western Desert before returning to Australia to fight the Japanese was later killed in a flying accident at North West Cape where his squadron had been assigned.
