Description
Collection relating to the service of Lance Corporal Herbert Gordon Akhurst, 20 Battalion, Bapaume, France 1917. Extracts from letter of 23 March 1917 describe working under the Town Hall in Bapaume where Akhurst was killed two days later on 25 March 1917. Extracts made by father (T. C. Akhurst) at Memorial's request 1928. Location of originals unknown.
