Collection relating to service of 484 Private Henry Thomas Clive Alcock, 23 Battalion, Cairo and Gallipoli, 1915. Collection includes typewritten copies of letters describing voyage to Egypt; guard duty at Columbo when troops of 23 Battalion were refused leave, and communicating with Turkish soldiers at Gallipoli. Copies made by father in 1929 in response to Memorial's request. Bound into file cover. Location of originals unknown.

Biographical note: 484 Private Henry Thomas Clive Alcock, 23 Battalion, Australian Infantry. Died of appendicitis, Alexandria, Egypt, 14 Feb 1916. Age 20. Son of William Henry and the late Annie Alcock. Born at Toorak, Victoria.
