Description
Collection relating to service of 875 Bombardier Arthur Edward Attwell, 2 Field Artillery Brigade, Gallipoli and France 1914-1916. Collection includes typed extracts from a diary kept by Attwell and letters sent by Attwell to Mr Leslie Warburton, a friend in Australia. Typed diary extracts made in 1927, probably by Tasman Heyes, Australian Representative at British Historical Section. Location of originals unknown.
History / Summary
Biographical note: 875 Bombardier Arthur Edward Attwell, 2 Brigade, Australian Field Artillery. Killed in action near Ypres, 11 October 1917. Age 27. Son of the late James and Maria Rebecca Attwell, of 18 Cambridge St., Reading, England.
