Interested in his great grandfather who fought at Waterloo; served in the Senior Cadets; age at time of death 21 years 4 months; joined AIF 1915 and served in Gallipoli, Egypt and France; commanded the Australian detachment at the Review of Allied Troops held at Versailles in mid 1918.
