Collection relating to service of 871 Private Thomas Gormlie, 2 Pioneer Battalion AIF, [France]. Collection includes a letter written by Gormlie to his wife Mary in Scotland, dated 15 November 1916.

Biographical notes: Private, 2nd Pioneer Battalion, AIF. Cabinet maker; of Sydney, NSW; born Barrhead, Scotland; educated at Barrhead Public school; was a member of the Renfrewshire volunteers; came to Australia when 29 years old; enlisted in the AIF on 21 March 1915; age at time of death, either 38 or 39.
