Collection relating to the service of 883 Private John Henderson, 19 Battalion, AIF, France, 1916. Collection consists of letters from friends of Henderson, written to his mother and father in England.
History / Summary
Biographical note: Occupation in Australia not known, but in England he had been articled to an architect; of Auburn, Sydney, NSW; born South Shields, England; educated at Ramsgate College; came to Australia when 19 years old; age at time of death 29. (His brother Robert Henderson, apparently served with the AIF and survived the war.)
