Biographical note: Served with the 8th Battalion, AIF. Killed in action 27 July 1916 at Pozieres. Orchardist, of Hawthorn, Victoria; born Hawthorn; educated at Auburn (Vic.) State School; enlisted in the AIF on 1 December 1915; age at time of death, 24 years 8 months.
