Description
Collection relating to the service of 3191 2nd Lieutenant Charles Edward McCardel, 7 Battalion, AIF, Australia, Egypt, France, Belgium, 1915-1918. Collection consists of typescript extracts from McCardel's diaries which he kept from 1915 to 1918. Contains regular entries relating his experiences during the first Battle of Bullecourt. A particular feature of these extracts is the detailed listing of every village and town McCardel passed through in France & Belgium. Location of original diaries unknown.
