Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant John Hugh McKenzie, 20 Infantry Battalion, AIF, Egypt, France, England, Scotland, 1916-1918. Collection consists of six letters written by Lieutenant McKenzie to his mother and his brother George.

History / Summary

Items of particular interest in this collection include McKenzie's letter of 25 June 1917, in which he describes German air raids on London, and his letter of 19 October 1918, in which he accuses the military leadership of incompetence in their conduct of the Western Front campaign, during the winter of 1916-1917.
