Collection relating to the service of 2nd Lieutenant Ronald Mackenzie, 20 Infantry Battalion, AIF, Gallipoli, Lemnos, Egypt, 1915-1916. Collection consists of three letters written by 2nd Lieutenant Ronald Mackenzie to his sister Mollie, and one letter of condolence written by 836 Sergeant William Tamblyn Crago, to Mackenzie's aunt, Miss Burrows.

History / Summary

Biographical note: Lieutenant Ronald Mackenzie, 20 Battalion, AIF. Farmer of Cooma, NSW, born East Maitland, NSW, educated at Mount Victoria, NSW, served with the AN&MEF in German New Guinea, 1914-1915, joined the AIF on 11 May 1915, killed in action at Pozieres, 30 July 1916, aged 29.

Biographical note: 836 Sergeant William Tamblyn Crago, 20 Battalion, AIF. Killed in action 3 January 1917. Age 24. Son of William Henry and Jane Crago, of 'Fermanagh', Yass, NSW.
