Collection relating to the service of 541 Private William George McSparron, 2 Battalion AIF, Egypt, 1915. Collection consists of typescript extracts from two letters written by Private William McSparron from hospital in Alexandria, 1915. Typescript copies made by Australian War Memorial. History / Summary
Biographical note: 541 Private William George McSparron, 2 Battalion, AIF. Killed in action 6-9 August 1915. Son of George and Jane McSparron. Native of Straid, Straidarron, Londonderry, Ireland; educated at Tyrglasson N. School, Co. Derry; chauffeur; of Annandale, NSW; came to Australia when 21 years old; age at time of death, 24.
