Collection relating to the service of 6518 Private Vivian Neville Main, 27 Battalion, Belgium, 1917. Collection consists of a typescript copy of a letter written by Private Main to his mother on Christmas Day, 1917. Private Main was killed later the same day.

Biographical note: 6518 Private Vivian Neville Main, 27 Battalion AIF, who on 25 December 1917, was killed in Ploegsteert sector. Other biographical details concerning him are: of Adelaide, born Sandgate, Queensland; educated at Fort Street Public School, Sydney; joined the AIF on 18 March 1916; age at time of death, 24.
