Biographical note: Lieutenant Ernest Milton Martin, 24 Battalion AIF. Insurance Clerk (AMP Society) of Melbourne, Victoria; born Sydney, NSW, educated at Scotch College, Melbourne; joined the AIF on 8 July 1915, killed in action at Mont. St. Quentin, 31 August 1918, aged 25. His brother, Captain William Alexander Martin, MC, 23 Battalion, AIF, returned to Australia, 8 July 1919. Son of James Alexander and Barbara Urquhart Martin, of 5 Royal Crescent, Armadale, Victoria, Australia.
