Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant John William Maunsell, 5 Battalion, AIF, France, 1918. Collection consists of one letter written by Lieutenant Maunsell to his wife Mildred, on 16 June 1918.
History / Summary
Biographical note: Lieutenant John William Maunsell, 5 Battalion, AIF. Born in County Wicklow, Ireland, educated at the United Service College, England, came to Australia when 19 years old. Killed in action, 9 August, 1918. Age at time of death, 29. Son of Colonel A. J. Maunsell and Augusta Maunsell; husband of Mildred Maunsell, of Kooringa, South Australia.
