Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant William Reid Moore, 28 Battalion, AIF, France, 1916. Collection consists of a typewritten extract from a letter written by Moore in August 1916, to his parents. Location of original letter unknown.
History / Summary
Biographical note: Lieutenant William Reid Moore, 28 Battalion. Carpenter of Narrogin, Western Australia. Born at Leith, Scotland. Educated at Leith Academy; served in the Royal Engineers (volunteer); came to Australia when 22 years old. Killed in action, 3 November 1916, at Flers. Age 29. Son of Andrew and Christina Moore, of 330 Newcastle St., Perth, Western Australia.
