Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant Walter Tertius Morrice, 1 Light Horse Regiment, 1915, Gallipoli, Egypt. Collection consists of handwritten copies of notes made by Morrice, describing his experiences on Gallipoli and his impressions of 1 Auxiliary Hospital (Luna Park) and Helouan Convalescent Home.

History / Summary

Lieutenant Walter Tertius Morrice, 1 Australian Light Horse. Died 28 September 1918, of wounds received in the Battle of Amman. Age 38. Son of Elizabeth Charlotte Morrice, of Tredegar House, Darling Point Rd., Edgecliff, New South Wales, and the late Walter Morrice. Other biographical details are: - station overseer and grazier; of Moss Vale, NSW; born Moss Vale; educated at Lee-Pullings College, Bong Bong, NSW; enlisted in the AIF on 10 September 1914 as a private; served in Egypt, Gallipoli, Sinai and Palestine; was wounded (according to his mother) on four occasions.
