Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant Laurence Whistler Street, 3 Battalion, AIF, Gallipoli, 1915. Collection consists of typed copies of two letter written by Lieutenant Street to his mother, from Gallipoli. The collection is notable for its vivid description of Street's experience of the Landing at Anzac Cove on 25 April 1915. Copies made by Australian War Memorial. The original letters are held by the State Library of New South Wales.

Biographical note: Lieutenant Laurence Whistler Street, 3 Battalion, AIF, who was killed in action on Anzac on 19 May 1915. Other biographical details concerning him are: student of law, Sydney; born Sydney; educated at Sydney Grammar School and Sydney University (BA); age at time of death, 21. Son of Mr. Justice Street, Chief Justice of New South Wales and Mrs. Belinda Maud Street.
