Collection relating to the service of Lieutenant Charles Frederick Yeadon, 22 Battalion, AIF, at sea, Egypt, Gallipoli, France, 1915-1917. Collection consists of thirty letters written by Yeadon to his family whilst on active service, and a letter of condolence written by 3755 Private Harold Hadley Adcock, 22 Battalion, AIF, to the parents of the late Lieutenant Yeadon.

Biographical note: Lieutenant Charles Frederick Yeadon, MC, 22 Battalion, AIF, who on 5 August 1916 was killed in action at Pozieres. Other biographical details concerning him are: Engineer of Bayswater, Victoria; born Brunswick, Victoria; educated at Bayswater State School; served for a time in the Victorian Scottish Regiment; joined the AIF on 15 February 1915; age at time of death, 28; son of John Lincoln Yeadon and Elizabeth Yeadon, of 71 Blair St., Moreland, Victoria, Australia.
