Axtens, John William (Lieutenant, b.1895 - d.1980)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 13 Lieutenant John William Axtens, Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (AN&MEF) and 8 Machine Gun Company. Collection consists of one diary written by Lt Axtens between August - November 1914; as well as 80 letters written by Lt Axtens home to his family between August 1914 - April 1919. Lt Axtens survived the war.
