Description
Collection relating to the war service of Major Richard Fitzgerald, 20th Battalion.
The collection consists of a diary which includes brief daily entries. The diary covers a year-long period from 26 June 1915, when Fitzgerald left Australia, and concludes soon after the award of his DSO 25 June 1916. The diary includes Fitzgerald's period of service at Gallipoli where he appears to have briefly commanded the 20th Battalion.
