View of the flight deck, looking aft from the forward lift, of the RAN fast troop transport and former aircraft carrier HMAS Sydney (III). Army vehicles have been embarked for trials in the ship's new role. The crane on the right is one of a number added to increase flexibility to her loading capacity. She retains her aircraft carrier pennant number, R17. (Naval Historical Collection).
