Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of Sister Lydia K King, AANS. Collection consists of handwritten diary in brown leather cover 1914-1972, covers service in Dardanelles area, Malta and Egypt; visit to England in 1915; return to Australia in 1916; return to Egypt and No 3 General Hospital in July 1916 and then to Britain. Diary continues after the war with descriptions of family events. Also included are two typed extracts from diary re the Anzac landing; newsclipping re golf tournment (not dated); "Recepisse de Demande De Carte Didentite" (French Identity card with photograph) issued December 1918 in Nice; movement order from No 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, 25 May 1918; summary of war service re Sister King and Lt Col Herbert Gordon Carter (husband); application for Anzac medal, 26 June 1967; mock charge sheet; travel arrangements (not dated, incomplete).
