Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of 12737 Private John Andrew Murray, 11th Australian Field Ambulance. Collection consists of an original handwritten diary covering the period January 1916 from Murray's time of enlistment in Adelaide; training at Salisbury Plains in England; service in France and Belgium during 1917-18 in which time he was awarded a Military Medal; to his demobolization and return to Australia in 1919. The diary contains brief irregular entries.
