Collection relating to the First World War and North Russia Intervention service of Sergeant Bertram Harold Perry MM, 14 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps and North Russia Relief Force, Russia, 1918-1919.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Wallet consists of a photocopy of a typescript diary covering his enlistment with Elope Force, voyage to Russia, service with the Force, German surrender, and return voyage to England, dated 1918-1919. Also included are photocopies of a proclamation in Russian and an English translation declaring reasons for fighting in North Russia; an exercise written in Russian and English; two ten-rouble notes; an excerpt of an address delivered in Archangel by the archpriest, Ielukhin; a map of Tulema River drawn by Elope mapping section; and eight photocopies of group and portrait photographs of force personnel, Archangel and Murmansk - some captioned.

487 Lance Sergeant Perry was awarded the Military Medal for action at Messines in June 1917.
