Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of 902 Sergeant Alfred John Roberts, 27 Battalion, France. Collection consists of a diary covering the period May 1915 to April 1916 written from Australia, Turkey and France; a notebook; a signal diary, April-July 1917; seven loose mesages including one received by the 27th Battalion on cessation of hostilities, 11 November 1918; two letters written by a French woman with one envelope and a small photograph; a certificate from the Army Signal School, 1917; a note regarding clothing and equipment; and a letter from Thebarton Repatrication Committee regarding benefits.
