Description

Wiancourt. The captured German 11 inch (28 cm) gun with which the enemy shelled Amiens, being moved by train, after the gun had been overhauled by the ordnance artificers. Major MacGregor, Royal Garrison Artillery (RGA), Officer Commanding (OC), 166th Siege Battery, intended to use it on Peronne, but owing to hazy weather for aircraft observation at that range, the idea was abandoned.
