Description

Reconnaissance sketch delineating Le Barque, Ligny-Thilloy, Gueudecourt and Beaulencourt in relation to Lark Hill and Needle Trench.The villages of Le Barque and Thilloy were fortifications part of a German reserve line, and were used by the Germans as a delying position during the retreat to the Hindenberg Line.
