Landgirls 1916-18
Description
Depicts two landgirls using two-horse ploughs. This was one of a number of paintings commissioned by the Memorial for the 'Women's work' galleries. The subject may or may not be Australian. There was a small contingent of women working in munitions factories in Australia during the First World War, but this scene is more likely painted from photographs of an English or Irish scene.
