Jemadar Akbar Shah
Description
Portrait depicting Jemadar Akbar Shah, of the 2/15th Punjab Regiment, Indian Army, a recovered Indian prisoner of war, captured in and taken to work for the Japanese. Jemadar is the most junior rank of an Indian Commissioned Officer, equivalent to a Lieutenant in the British Army.
