Bomana War Cemetery
Description
In course of construction, 1st Australian Graves Registration Unit at work. The number of graves in the cemetery when the picture was painted, 1944 - was 655 Australians and 8 members of the Papuan Infantry Battalion. Berri airstrip is on the right and a Dragon Rapide may be seen taking off. Hospital and food planes to Kokoda and Wau leave from here.
