B24s on concrete strip
Description
These planes of No. 159 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, with which many Australians are serving, are awaiting instructions to taxi up to the take-off strip. They are already bombed up, and the crews have been briefed for the attack on Great Cocos Island. Such is the weight of one of these aircraft fully loaded, that the wheels would sink into any foundation less solid than concrete, Digri, India.
