Description
Scene depicting 2/30th Australian Infantry Battalion in one of the 100 metre bamboo huts at Changi prisoner-of-war camp after the surrender of the Japanese. Changi was the main prisoner-of-war camp in Singapore where some 14,972 Australians captured at the fall of Singapore were imprisoned. Some of these men had spent over three years in these huts and were now soon to parade for the move to the docks and embarkation on the ship 'HMS Esperance Bay' for Australia.
