Rethymnon
Description
The town Rethymnon is referred to in the Official War History as Retimo. As seen from ruins of Church on Hill "C" above the village of Perivolia. Bitter fighting between the German and the 2/1st and 2/11th Australian Infantry Battalions took place across this area in May 1941.
