Description

At the forward camp site of 194 Transport Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force. To obtain water, a well was sunk and four large drums with the ends cut away were placed end on end in the well and the earth filled around them. Water then seeps into the well and is drawn by lowering a suitable container on a cord. Drawing shows, on left, Flight Sergeant A.R Kelly, Royal Australian Air Force, and waiting to draw water is Warrant Officer, N.D Strongman also of the Royal Australian Air Force.
