Captain William Ronald Magarry
Description
Set against the landscape where Captain William Ronald Magarry, MC, of D Company, 2/26 Battalion was awarded his MC for bravery, Griffin has portrayed the rugged terrain and grim determination of Magarry. In the background of the painting is the hill near Namazie Estate, Johore, that was cleared of the Japanese by Captain Magarry and his men of D Company on 29 January 1942.
