Captain Robert Fleming
Description
Portrait of VX52857 Captain Robert Sandford Fleming, 2/7 Commando Squadron. When the Japanese attacked the defence position near Tong, occupied by the 2/7 Cavalry Commando Squadron, Captain Fleming of that unit was one of the casualties, being wounded in the shoulder. This picture was drawn at 104 Australian Casualty Clearing Station to which Captain Fleming had been evacuated, Aitape, New Guinea.
