Description

Depicting an incident when a patrol was attacking the Japanese at night on the slopes below Yaula. Q138283, Private J O'Donohue, is seen in position behind a tree whilst N450063, Private S Ralph is behind another tree on his left. The Japanese were moving very cautiously in this area as they were not sure at all where our troops were. They were firing at every movement and rustle of foliage. This particular Japanese came snooping around and was killed with a rifle shot, Finisterres, New Guinea.
