Landing Japanese on Fauro Island
Description
Approximately 18,000 Japanese from the Buin area were transported over 60 kilometers by sea to the Fauro Group. Australian barges carred the main body and this picture shows the scene on one of the beaches of the bustle and activity unlaoding personnel and gear, Bougainville.
