Lieutenant A Lapin
Description
Portrait of Lieutenant Allenby A. Lapin (VX13848). Lapin was of Jewish faith and was enrolled university student in Melbourne at the time of his enlistment in May 1940. He served with the 2/6th Battalion in the Middle East and was later taken prisoner during the Greece campaign. He subsequently spent the rest of the war in German POW camps. This work was drawn in the Eastbourne, UK after his liberation from Germany captivity in 1945.
