Barrack square, Selerang
Description
View of makeshift kitchen built in Selerang Barrack Square, with the former British Army barracks in background. This is one of the few works in which Griffin portrayed the austerity of camp life. Although his works do not make light of the situation the men found themselves in at Changi, Griffin still created an optimistic and relatively contented vision of everyday camp life during his time as a POW.
