Workshop at Selerang
Description
Depicts Sergeant Alexander Barclay, 2/10 Field Coy RAE and Staff Sergeant J S Whelan, 2/10th Field Coy RAE in an improvised workshop. Selerang Barracks were former British Army Barracks and were used in conjunction with Changi Goal to house prisoners-of-war of the Japanese. This picture shows some of the prisoners in the workshop under the water tower repairing and making all types of tools, from large bore hole drills to razors.
