This is one of eleven drawings on paper that were cartoons intended for a painting of Australian troops at Owers' Corner in Papua New Guinea. However, the painting was never made, instead these eleven individual sheets, when assembled together, create the image. This drawing does not make up the overall image, but was a study for it.
