Description
Frank Hodgkinson's earlier sketch of this subject is dated October 1942 and has a direct correlation to the artist's experience with 7th Australian Division. Hodgkinson enlisted in May 1940, but was not appointed an official artist until March 1945. During that period, he was dedicated to making sketches and writing about the war. Here, troops cross the Kumusi River at Wairopi, Owen Stanley Ranges, New Guinea.
