[Artist's sketchbook of portraits]
Description
A sketchbook by Australian serviceman Eric Milgate, from his time in a Prisoner of War camp in Grupignano, Italy. It includes 22 leaves and 21 pages of drawings, with one blank page. Three pages have also been removed. Each image in the sketchbook was drawn in portrait orientation. The drawings in the sketchbook are of fellow Australian servicemen in the Camp. Each sitter has signed the page of their portrait, in many cases including their addresses back home.
