Depicts a panoramic view from Mount Carmel Road. In the distant harbour (probably Port Haifa, now in Israel) freighters and oil tankers can be seen at the moorings. The main shipping wharf is on the nearer shore. This was produced as part of the artist's Syrian Campaign series. The campaign involved Australian troops, mostly from the 7th Division, fighting alongside allied troops against the Vichy French in Syria and Lebanon.
