Victory souvenir: flags unfurled
Description
Victory souvenir sketch of Changi Gaol for Major Clarke. Illustration is on the right side of a folded sheet as though it was intended for a booklet. During the Pacific War in World War II, American-British-Dutch-Australian (ABDA) Command was established in early 1942 for all Allied forces in South East Asia. This is reflected by the three unfurled flags above the Changi Gaol clock tower: the Union Jack, Stars and Stripes and the flag of the Netherlands.
